My “Sunday” Sevens are a day late again – I was in Bath Christmas shopping with my daughter yesterday, an annual event in its twentieth year! Each year we drive in before the shops open, have breakfast, lunch and dinner out and manage a bit of shopping and mulled wine in between. It was the last day of the Bath Christmas Market too, so the city was looking and feeling very festive.
We really look forward to this girly day out which only ever happens otherwise on our shared birthday – we were both born on March 13th:)
Here is a snapshot of my week: –
1. Put up the Christmas Tree
2. Yarn delivery from The Wool Warehouse!
3. Walking around the village after dark in PJs, dressing gowns and wellies leaving Candy Canes on gateposts/car windscreens as a surprise for the children in the village to wake up to:)
4. Brilliant Christmas Album has been played non-stop since the beginning of December!
5. Home made gift tags from last year’s Christmas cards.
6. First reading of “Twas The Night Before Christmas”.
7. Christmas shopping in Bath with my daughter.
Hop over to Nat at Threads & Bobbins to see what #sundaysevens is all about!

Your Christmas traditions are lovely! The candy cane idea is just adorable. I can picture my little nieces discovering them on a fencepost and being so excited π Love the photo of you and your daughter! Beautiful π

Love seeing your “Sunday Sevens”! And I love your Christmas traditions! The candy cane idea is fab, as is your idea to make gift tags from last year’s x-mas cards. My favorite – photo and tradition – is the one of you and your daughter! Marianne xx

Thank you Marianne, Christmas wouldn’t be the same without family traditions would it?

Gosh doesn’t she look like you! A very lovely tradition. My Mum and sister do something similar every year (I don’t go as I don’t much like shopping!) which they love. Your tree is fab as well. Have you ever come across a book called The 13 Days of Christmas by Jenny Overton? It’s a fictionalised account of how the carol came to be written and your boys are probably about the right age to appreciate it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thirteen-Days-Christmas-Jenny-Overton/dp/0192729578

Thanks Claire, I’ll go and have a look in a minute – I’ve just made a coffee as it happens. And yes, Holly-Rose is me 23 years ago!

That is a gorgeous name for a gorgeous girl π hope you like the sound of the book. It came out the year I was born (72) and I’ve known it forever. One of my favourites π
