A quick round up of my week – the highlight of which was a visit to Liberty’s of London! And, yes, I did spend too much….

1. We did two of the Shaun The Sheep trails around London, this one was spotted in Chinatown. They’re also in Bristol which is closer to home so maybe next week….

2. Interior of Liberty’s in Regent Street. Just stunning architecture.

3. Just to prove I was there!

4. I bought a metre and a half of three different fabrics and a ball of Kidsilk Haze to border my shawl.

I plan on making some summer tops or dresses but haven’t decided on patterns as yet.

5. My daughter’s unfinished portrait in oils from her artists weekend we bought her for her birthday. It’s going to be good when it’s finished isn’t it?

6. Cheeky shot of Mr H-L Calendar-Girl style!

7. All he did was to move a pile of earth from one part of the garden to another as far as I could tell.

The Boys claimed the spoil as their WW1 trench, erected chicken wire ‘barbed wire’, dressed in camouflage gear and spent a very happy day rolling around in mud.

  1. Another great week! I’m so jealous that you went to Liberty’s…my daughter has promised me a trip there next time we are in London 😉 Lovely fabric choices!! Looks like all the boys, big and small, enjoyed their day in the garden 😀

    • I only had half an hour and spent it on the fabric floor – there were so many other levels that you could waste an entire day there, refuelling in their café as necessary! You’re right about The Boys having fun in the garden. A digger and mud is all they need. Such simple souls, the male of the species:)

      • How wonderful would it be if Liberty’s did bed and breakfast or package holidays in their store…I’m sure I could spend a whole week there..given the chance and an armful of money LOL quite right about the male species, though it is nice to see them enjoy themselves too! 😀

  2. Funny! Your trip to Liberty’s sounds lovely, I think your haul was quite modest 😉

    • I set myself a limit of a hundred pounds otherwise my haul would have been a LOT larger! I could have spent a serious amount of money had I had any longer than half an hour whilst the rest were next door in the pub:)

  3. Sounds like a lovely week! I am envious of your Liberty haul – how long did it take you to choose? SO much choice in there and it’s all gorgeous! Looks like you have all enjoyed being out and about this week. That painting is amazing!

    • I only had half an hour while the others were in the pub next door, so I dashed around trying to see everything which, of course, was impossible in that time! Another visit beckons next time we’re in London:)

    • It was a great week and we’ve just got back from another fab break – we’ve certainly made the most of the Easter hols this year as my husband took two weeks off as well. The Boys are still excitedly keeping their new room spotless – until the novelty wears off……

  5. Looks like you had lovely time in Liberty, I can’t go to London without popping in, it’s worth a visit for the building alone! Looking forward to seeing what you sew with those pretty fabrics.

    • We go to London quite regularly as that’s where my husband is from (and still works) but I’ve never been to Liberty’s before. The building is incredible and I fully intend to frequent more often!

  6. What a lovely week! Your boys remind me of mine when he was younger. So much better playing out and being proper lads than inside in front of the telly. The pic of your hubby is funny! Don’t let him near the main roads – he’ll cause an accident! 😀

  7. Oh wow! This week of sevens is awesome. Your pics in London look awesome! I so love the fabric you chose. I love them all. It would have taken me forever to choose. Your hubby’s pic… hmmmm I am sure you love it. LOL 🙂 It is fun to do cheeky pics once in a while. Your daughter’s oil painting is superb! She has awesome talent just like her momma!! I really enjoyed this post alot.

    • Thanks Robin:) I’ve been away but have just read that your cushion arrived at last – I’m so pleased that you like it! Liberty also have a great online store with ALL their instore fabrics available, so the assistant informed me. Could be dangerous…..!

  8. Looks like you had a great time at Liberty’s! Very jealous. And your boys are having so much fun. Reminds me of Legs when he was little.

    • Half an hour in Liberty’s was not enough, I fully intend to spend an entire day there next time – they’ve got their own café! The Boys are proper boys and such good friends too as there are only 20 months between them. I love watching them play – their imaginations are wonderful:)

  10. Aren’t the sheep trails cool? Such a great thing to do with the kids too! Obviously I am very jealous of your Liberty visit; your fabrics are just gorgeous 🙂

    • We only did two of the trails with about twenty of the sheep – there are over a hundred in total! The Liberty store is just a crafter’s paradise, and their online store sells everything that’s available instore too apparently……

      • Sheila I just checked out the Liberty website and it is super cool. While looking at the fabrics you can run your cursor over the fabric square .. the squares changes into a woman wearing an item of clothing made with the fabric square you are looking at. How cool is that?!! So if you need some inspiration on a pattern to get go check it out. 🙂
