This weeks Sunday Sevens is the last one from England for a couple of weeks – I will test the ‘phone app out in Spain:)

1. In a bid to avoid the dreaded “Second Sock Syndrome”, I cast on again as soon as the first one came off the needles.
Sunshine Yellow.
Well, they were never going to be subtle, were they?!
2. Here follows three of the many reasons why May is my absolute favourite month: –
Wisteria
Bluebells In The Hedgerows

3. A commission for monogrammed napkins was packed and sent off.
4. New knickers! Good old M&S online.
Why do I always wait until my old ones are full of holes before I ‘treat’ myself to some new ones?
5. Watched ‘Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals’ on TV and Mr H-L ordered the book before the end of the programme….
6. 300 Swarovski Crystal Beads arrived at last, after a month of waiting. They’re going to be incorporated into some knitting for Christmas presents.
7. My Matilda Tunic pops up in ‘Love Sewing’ this month.

Thanks, although the customer hasn’t let me know if she liked them – don’t you just hate not getting any feedback?! Just got to the heel flap on the second sock and I love them! I have a feeling shop bought socks are going to be a thing of the past as these feel marvellous on the feet:)

What a shame she hasn’t let you know. Yes, we all need feedback – good and bad, although I can only imagine those napkins getting good. Are they hand or machine embroidered or a bit of both? Uh oh! sounds like you’ve turned into another sock making addict.

They’re entirely hand embroidered and were a joy to immerse myself in for a couple of days. Almost finished the second sock now and can’t wait to start another pair!

I thought they were. Not only did they look too beautiful for machine, but I was thinking that metallic thread would be a nightmare on a machine. You are a very talented lady.
Well done on nearly being there with the second sock. Mine has been abandoned for the lacy jumper and the crochet, but I have a hospital appointment tomorrow, so will take it there – could get on quite well knowing how long one can end up waiting.

Gorgeous! Everything is gorgeous in this post but the embroidered letters drove me crazy! They are beautiful indeed!! You crocheted the letters and then embroidered the branches ? Hand or machine embroidery?

No, all embroidered entirely by hand – each napkin took six hours! I used two strands of floss to keep the stitches tiny. The silver thread was so pretty adding a lovely sparkle – they were for a Silver Wedding present apparently:)

Your embroidered napkins are superb!! 🙂 and those socks are amazing!!!.. who wouldn’t have happy feet wearing that colour?! Another wonderful week, I’m loving the colours of May too, though, I wish my Wisteria would eventually flower, still eight years and waiting ;-/

I bet the next colour will be just as bold and bright 😉 They did say it would be seven years before any flowers, now my patience is being tested, though having Googled it, if it was grown from seed, it could take 15 years =(

The hedgerows in May are always so pretty, aren’t they? I hope the Elderflowers aren’t over by the time we get back, otherwise there’ll be no Elderflower cordial this year…

Super bright pics! I would wear those socks! They are fab… 🙂 Congrats on the edition in the Reader’s Makes section of the mag! I would be over the moon. Woo hoo nice panties. I bet the hubby loves them too. We always buy for the whole family before we buy for ourselves. That is what being a good mum is about. 😉 I hope you will be able to post while in Spain. I will miss your posts if you can’t get through.

When will you be leaving for Spain? Do you get Crochet! magazine where you live? I recieved my first one in the mail yesterday. It has 27 projects in it. I don’t have enough experience to do any of them except one which is a baby blanket. All of the patterns remind me of you. There are all kinds of lacy stitches to make shirts, shawls etc I would really like to mail it to you if you would let me. I hate to see this wonderful magazine go to waste. The address on the package from the giveaway rubbed partially off. Please email me with your full address and let me mail it to you… pretty please with a cherry on top!! … 😀

Ooh, yes please, I’d love it – I don’t buy any crochet magazines so that would be fantastic! We fly out early on Wednesday but we have house/dog/hen sitters so there will be somebody in all the time to receive it. Thank you!

Thanks, the napkins were a joy to make, I don’t get chance to make things like that very often. Not sure if I can show what I’m making with the crystals as they’re Christmas presents for about eight women in the family:)

I’m so sorry I missed your lovely comment! The wisteria was particularly good this year in the West Country, perhaps because of the mild Winter? The napkins were a joy to do, probably even more so because I don’t do much embroidery nowadays. Mum has just dug out some cross stitch ladies I made her about 25 years ago that I had forgotten about – I might share those on the blog one day:)

Not to worry, Lovely! That’s interesting, about the wisteria. There were profuse out in California, when I worked there. would be such a treat to walk between buildings when they bloomed. Heavenly!

Thanks, I was really pleased with the napkins – I’m considering making a set of twelve with our initials on but it’s a bit daunting! We’ve already worked our way through a few of Jamie’s recipes but haven’t managed to make them in 15 minutes yet:)
