Sunday Sevens #45

Sunday Sevens is a weekly blog series consisting of sevens photos representing your week – a great way to keep blogging if you don’t have much to blog about!

Nat over at Threads & Bobbins explains how you can take part in #sundaysevens in her post here.

So this is my week in brief……

1. The day bed is finally getting some proper use now the weather has perked up – my favourite place to do a spot of crocheting.

11

2. My crochet-everything-in-the-book challenge is well under way – I’m nearly half way through already!!

10

3. Popped into Butterfly Bright in Sherborne and discovered that they do a range of knit/sew/crochet ‘n’ natter type sessions that I quite fancy attending.

12

4. Caught The Boys making mud pies in their school uniforms.

5. Methinks ALL the hens are taking liberties now.

  3. The hens do look quite photogenic around your house . . . I’m not sure I want to see the mess they leave behind, though! Looks like a lovely lunch and beautiful weather, even with all the chicken and kid messes to deal with. 😉

  6. Oh my! You are jumping all over in the mags! Shows just how talented you are my friend. Boy if I made mud pies in my good clothes my mom would have given me a lashing. LOL Your boys looks so sweet with their soft curls. In the short time I have known you they have grown like weeds. Tell them to slow down so you can enjoy their super funny antics. 🙂 I adore the doll you are making. I think her striped stockings make her just the fashion maven! xxxxxxx Robin

    • The Boys are growing up so fast – too fast, as you rightly say. Having four other children in their twenties makes me want to keep them babies for longer:)

  7. That lacy edge on your daybed cover is inspired! Congratulations on the magazine mention ! ! ! Enjoyed their site, and don’t think there’s anything similar here. Your ladies are definitely spoilt! Sheila, your posts are too interesting. I start following links & get so involved I forget to get back to you to Thank You for all the inspiration. 💕

  8. My chickens are cheeky buggers too. Doesn’t help when the 2 year old human liberates them and they eat my strawberries.

    • We have a thornless blackberry – huge mistake. Now there’s nothing to stop them eating them all! We have a ‘rustic’ garden. Anyone who has fully free range hens will know what that means:)

    • Thanks! We spent so much time outside last Summer and the lightweight gazebo spent quite a lot of that time in the field due to gusts of wind, that we invested a few hundred quid in a permanent one with waterproof curtains and canopy. We now sleep out there on hot nights as well with no risk of getting wet in the odd shower. Lovely!

  12. A lovely post. The hen pics have to be my favourite. I always dreamed of having a country cottage with hens popping in and out the back door 🙂 The gazebo room sounds amazing. We have a gazebo but have to take the cover off for the winter. Yours looks amazing. x

    • Well, we don’t have a cottage with roses around the door any more as we needed a bigger house for the growing family and a 1930’s four bed semi was the practical option. We are in the country though, pretty much living the dream:)

    • The crochet book is all dolls and their outfits/accessories and they are to be a Christmas present for a little girl. As it is also a project for Minerva Crafts, I thought I’d make everything in the book!

      • I remember the book being in your Sunday Sevens a while back and loving it then. Problem is I have no little girls to make dolls/outfits for 😦 It’s going to have to be a different book if I’m going to challenge myself to do everything in a book.,

  17. Such a fun post, I love the free range chickens, my friend has chickens and she swears that they gang up on her, it makes me laugh. The boys are adorable all arms and legs and sunkissed skin, you must have so much fun with them. When your craft work stalls you could always try writing about parenting, it looks like you’re doing a grand job.
