The Summer holidays are flying by – where did last week go???

Another busy week with The Boys and we’ve done some fun things over the past seven days; here are a few of them.

  1. Went to the Arnolfini in Bristol where there was a Graffiti exhibition on show.

2. Picnic at Ashton Court with No.1, No.2 and No.3 Sons.

The Picnic Blanket had its first proper outing:)

3. These little egg bucket egg cups were a gift and are getting plenty of use during the holidays as we can take our time over breakfast.

The eggs are fresh-out-of-the-hen fresh!

4. Took The Boys to Bristol Aquarium which they loved.

5. Having done the Shaun The Sheep Trail in London at Easter, we spotted a few in Bristol too. This one was right outside the entrance to the Aquarium.

6. Made a ‘phone case for Tajana as part of our gift exchange after finding out her attempts had been unsuccessful.

7. Mr. H-L and our friend had their backs and bottoms waxed for charity. I haven’t laughed so much for ages – their screams were hilarious!

8. An extra photo this week just to clear the last image from your traumatised minds!

The Boys upcycled T-shirts found their way into Love Sewing magazine alongside another blogging buddy, Lazy Daisy Jones🙂

  2. The penultimate image is mind boggling! Brave chaps. Those egg cups are just divine but did you forget the Marmite on the soldiers. Well done on the magazine appearance! Lovely sevens this week

    • I love marmite on my toast but not with eggs as I think it hides the delicate flavour. We videoed the men and put it on Facebook for everyone who had sponsored. Honestly, men cannot handle pain at all well!

  3. They are very brave chaps! That egg yolk looks incredible – an amazing colour. Well done on more media fame.

  5. First let me get this out of the way about the naked pictures: OH MY! Clutch my pearls! LOL I love the phone case that you made. 🙂

  6. Oh my word!! Love the phone case! Congrats Tajana! The hairless back and bottoms are way too cute. They may have not been able to take the pain but what good sports they are. Wait until the hair starts to grow back on those naked bottoms. There will be a lot of itchin and scratchin! LOL
I so love your blog. You are such a great mum and you have me in stitches all the time. Thanks my friend!! Much luv to you and the whole family. xxxxxx

    • Thanks for all your kind and thoughtful comments, they mean a lot to me! I’ve warned hubby about the intense itching he’ll be facing in a few days, maybe I should take a video of that?! Sending best wishes across the sea to you:)

  7. Such a busy week, no wonder it whizzed by!! LOL Well done the chaps and all for a good cause – no doubt men’s hair removal is soooo much more painful than ours ;-/?! And, YAY!… to the picnic blanket’s first outing and your newest magazine article 🙂

    • The Boys were excited to see themselves in a magazine and laughed to see the one I’d chosen to submit! They’d pulled the usual fake smiles and I said to them that they could look a bit happier to have new T-shirts which resulted in the daft expressions! As for the men, well, it was the most entertaining hour and a half in ages!

  8. Now there’s something I never expected to see on a sewing blog. 😉

I love the picture of your son at the aquarium eye-to-eye with the ray! Looks like a fun trip all round. And I’m so jealous of the recipient of that phone case–what a great gift!

  9. Crikey!! I feel their pain!!!! 😳 I remember my first time like it was yesterday – my under arms bled!! And wine made the pain worse the second time! But will he have a second time!? such a brave pair – well done!
Looks like the rest of the family have had a lovely week. And your eggs looks super duper yummy! 😀

I certainly wasn’t expecting bare bums hahahahahahaha

    • Ha ha! I don’t think anyone was expecting bare bums on a craft blog! Last Summer we stayed at home for the entire six weeks as the weather was so lovely The Boys just wanted to play in the garden and pool all the time. This year, being changeable, we’ve taken them out more which is a nice change.
