This week’s Sunday Sevens is quite a crafty one as I’ve been to several craft fairs as well as working on my #stitchingsanta which I hope to share this week. (Carmen Ross, did you get my email?)

- It’s been a soup kind of week, if you know what I mean. Spiced butternut squash soup this week. Warming and delicious.
2. For those of you who have been feverishly knitting/crocheting squares for the ‘Crochet for Calais’ refugees appeal, here are a few of the squares about to be made into a blanket. There is still time to make some up as more trips to the refugee camps are planned before Christmas. Click on the link for full details of how you can help.
3. Here are a few things I couldn’t resist at recent craft fairs: –
A stunning, handpainted silk cushion with the most beautiful depictions of pansies, each edged in gold.
Two beaded snowman tree decorations and a crocheted bauble.
Some locally produced Somerset honey.
4. I made a sample for the girls who will be starting this cute little skirt in their next sewing lesson – the softest corduroy with ric rac trim and buttoned back split.
5. Readers of my blog have very kindly sent me some photos of things they’ve made following my tutorials. The Crochet Cowl Poncho is far and away the most popular post on my blog to date, with 10,536 views so far – 59 already today!
6. Another reader sent me this photo of the One-Hour Ikea Bag made from my tutorial. Don’t you just love the crochet granny square-effect vinyl she used?
7. I made a lemon drizzle birthday cake which we took with Prosecco to have with our tea for my father-in-law’s birthday in his care home. The Boys made him a glorious, glitter-covered birthday card.
That’s it for this week, although I could have squeezed in many more photos if I’d dared. Do you like the way I’ve numbered them making it seem like there are only seven photos when there are actually fourteen?! Well, montages only count as one, don’t they?

Your Sunday Sevens are my favourite, though I feel I shouldn’t have favourites, but I do, so never mind! I love the family times, home cooked foods and all the craftiness! Another lovely week ✂️😀✂️

Lovely Sunday sevens, although there are 14! Thoroughly enjoyed them. I can’t quite believe it but I failed to take a single picture for Sunday sevens this week, although there was curried celery soup and leek and potato soup, snow and lots of crafting going on, trouble with the crafting is I have no finishes. maybe next week! Have a fabulous week yourself.

It’s definitely soup weather, it’s turned so cold this weekend. You bought some lovely things from the craft fairs, especially that pretty cushion, absolutely beautiful.

Isn’t it gorgeous? An elderly lady makes them for charity and only charges £30 each – nothing like enough for the hours of work that goes into them, let alone the included feather pad!

An excellently crafty way of numbering the photos 🙂 I love your poncho pattern and haven’t seen it before – I’m saving that link for a time closer to winter! It reminds me so much of one of my first ever knitting projects when I moss stitched an unremembered amount of diamonds in 4 ply wool in different colours and then sewed them altogether to make a fabulous poncho. By the time I had finished it, ponchos were out of fashion 🙂 I’ll try and do better this time!

Ha ha, that made me laugh! This poncho works up REALLY quickly so there’s no danger of it going out of fashion in the few hours it takes to make:)

It’s a great little detail, isn’t it? I’m going to encourage them to customise them as much as possible to show what can be done with a plain pattern – and also to ensure that they don’t all go home with the same skirt:)

A very creative way of numbering photos…I hadn’t even noticed until you had said! I’m hoping that I will also make your poncho one day…I need a recap on my crochet skills though first. Love all the homemade goodies you’ve bought this week, especially the crochet bauble!

Ha ha – I shouldn’t have mentioned the ‘numbering’ then! Hope you do get around to making the poncho. It’s a great one to return to crochet with as it’s only one stitch (treble crochet) and it works up in a couple of evenings with super chunky yarn and a big hook.

I’ve been making things for months now and I’m STILL going to have to steal some time from somewhere to make some decorations! I’ll never do beadwork though, so I snap these up whenever I see some:)

Wow I want some of that soup. Amazing number of views on your poncho! Someone I mentioned the crochet for Calais thing too is sending (or maybe has sent) a bundle of different sizes squares to your friend. Will you be able to post more pics when they’re all ready for sending?

Definitely hearty soup weather now! The craft fair buys look lovely, I much prefer buying one off gifts that you know will be appreciated. Love the poncho pattern too 🙂
