Just hopping on the computer briefly to do this week’s Sunday Sevens, linking up with Nat from Threads & Bobbins. Too busy for many words but, as they say, a picture speaks a thousand….
- Had a moonlit supper outside warmed by an old woodburner that we keep in the garden especially for times like these.
2. The following morning there was a beautiful sunrise as I let the hens out.
3. No.2 Son is continuing to enjoy his cross stitch.
4. He had great fun untangling all my embroidery skeins and organising them all.
5. The Boys had their first proper riding lesson and absolutely loved it.
6. Harvest Supper at the village hall – a huge turnout for our tiny community of 240 residents.
7. Stocks have started arriving for my new venture – The Stitch Academy. Just waiting for one more machine and a stack of patterns to come. I have my first client booked – a 1:1 dressmaking session this week!

I’ve used many makes but always seem to go back to Janome, so they were my first choice for the academy:)

My Mother in law gave me a Toyota Super Jeans two Christmas ago, simple with really few stitches but quite resistant! I like it quite a lot!

No2 son’s embroidery is looking wonderful and I’m sure they both had a great time on their first pony ride. Good luck with your first 1:1 you certainly look prepared 😀

It sure looks like you had a busy week. I started embroidery at the same time as crocheting. The age of 12-13. Hug son number 2 and tell him to keep doing both. His projects are both coming along really well. It is wonderful to know a gentleman who can cook, sew and everything that usually only women

No.3 Son has just started cross stitch too, so we’re a very crafty household at the moment! They haven’t found the joy of cooking yet though, only of eating:)

Your venture is different to what I do because you’re doing it all yourself – I have the ease of not needing to advertise or anything but there’s a lot more paperwork, policies and procedures to adhere to! You will need photos to grow 😀

I cook everything from scratch even down to making my own butter not because I love cooking (I wish I did!), but because I want to know what I’m putting into our bodies. The Academy is getting organised slowly but surely – now to ditch the photography books in my office and replace them with sewing books!

Oh yes, I cook from scratch for the same reason – and wish I could enjoy it. Wow a big moment ditching the photography books – letting go of parts of our former lives can be hard, but you sound as if you’re definitely ready 🙂

Love your outdoor supper, so cosy. Good luck with your class, I imagine it’s done now. It’d be good for your students to write a guest post on your blog so we can see what they’ve made, and it would inspire beginners too 😃

First 1:1 lesson done – an hour passes too quickly! I will share students work as and when items are completed together with photos of the class when relevant permissions have been given.
