What a brilliant job you’ve made of that chair post puppy mayhem. You are indeed a woman of many and various talents.
Good tip for not leaving a seam allowance when making cushions – I do hate a saggy corner.

They are “happy” fabrics, aren’t they? Especially the flowers one. I think it’s the blue paint that brings it back to life the most though.

Absolutely perfect. I love the fabric you choose, it ties in perfectly with the paint. Gorgeous new chair, ideal for relaxing with a cup of tea. 🙂

Thanks Joey, it’s not for the faint hearted, but it ties in with the dresser a treat. If I get bored, I can just make a new set of loose covers:)

Loved what you did with the chair, you need to take a photo of the dog sitting on the chair. We can’t sit on anything new unless our dog has tried it first!

Is that you, Mum? I’ll never forget all those doll’s clothes you made for us that Christmas – one of the best presents ever. The chair is in the “sun room” – dogs have been relegated to their suitcase bed and they seem happy enough. Xx

The dogs haven’t attempted to jump up on to it as yet, probably because I put their basket where the chair used to be as they’re very much creatures of habit.

Most old fashioned chairs can be given a new lease of life for 21st century living and at least they tend to be sturdy and worth transforming – not like flat-pack furniture which falls apart after 12 months so you have to go back and buy some more!

This has really got the Wow factor! I love it! You’ve just inspired my – I have an old foot stool that’s long past it best that we got from M&S. I was gonna see if I could get a few quid on ebay for it but I’m going to do it up myself after seeing your transformation! 🙂

Yeah, go for it! Even if you decide you don’t like it afterwards, you can still put it on eBay, but it seems a shame not to try and love it yourself.

Sheila, I love what you’ve done with this chair. Your tutorials are so thorough and easy to follow. That pink and blue combination will be right at home in your sun room. And those fabric combos are brilliant.
You have some mad skills, woman, and great taste in fabrics.

Thanks Alys! The odd bold piece of furniture really lifts a space, I find. Certainly, the chair and dresser lift all that wood in our kitchen and make it a nicer place to be.
