As with all of you, I’m sure, these last few weeks have been hectic and I’ve been offline for a large portion of that time. I hope to find time this evening to catch up on some blog reading and see what you’ve all been up to but, in the meantime, here’s my Sunday Sevens.
1. I found this great book in TKMaxx and bought it based on the cover photo!
2. I’m still at the stage where I want to keep my car spotless. Not sure how long that will last.
3. Managed to squeeze in lunch and a bit of shopping with my sister. Tambourine Village in Street again – lush!
4. Our new sofa arrived from Laura Ashley! It’s cranberry crushed velvet and so much cosier than the old leather ones.
5. It sits opposite the one we got off eBay a few weeks ago. I know, I know – I don’t do minimalism:)
6. Our village Christmas supper went down very well as usual. Even though I came off the committee in March, I still seem to get roped in to organise things as before as I just can’t say no to people!
7. We took a ‘plane to Scotland……
8. …..and went to see a pantomime in King’s Theatre in Glasgow.
9. We stayed in a hotel overnight before getting up at 4am to catch another ‘plane to Lapland to meet the real Father Christmas! A separate blog post will follow – eventually:)
10. Back in Blighty a few days later, they opened their new pyjamas. New PJs are a bit of a tradition now at Christmas.
11. For some reason a selfie is a mirror image on my ‘phone, hence the text being back to front, but it’s a pattern review I did for Sewing World magazine.
12. Another Christmas present finished, to be blogged about on Wednesday for the Minerva Crafts Blogger Network.
13. More yarn – I have to make another one for her little sister for Christmas. I foresee a VERY late night or two….
14. Friends joined us for an impromptu evening playing Christmas ‘Hangman’. Cheese and drinks aplenty were consumed.
15. Both of my Stitching Santa parcels arrived! Mine are both posted now, too, so I can relax a tiny bit as another deadline has been reached by the skin of my teeth.

Another fabulously hectic week!
Love the chunky knits book – that’s my sort of knitting – big and fast (like my men haha!!) Your new sofa looks proper cosy, I don’t think minimalistic would work in your lounge, you’d need too many emergency chairs! I’m wondering if guests are allowed at your annual village christmas dinner, and if so can you add 3 for next year please. I can’t wait to read all about your trip to see Santa, I really wish we’d have taken H when he was younger. And a big congratulations for being in print again!! Well done!! 🙂

Thanks Ali, it’s crazy around here at the moment, no time for such luxuries as blogging – I will catch up though. Big and fast describes my man, too! Mum says we’ll regret getting rid of the two old corner sofas – they’d seat 12 comfortably, 14 at a squeeze. Thing is, we only need that much seating at Christmas so I went for the prettier option. Velvet is SO much nicer than leather:) My ex and I could never afford to take ours to Lapland so I was determined to take The Boys. It was ace and I’ll be forever thankful that we did it.

A wonderful week…LOL You definitely need to be a triplet to accomplish all you do!!! Sounds like you all had an amazing time seeing the Real Father Christmas 😉 Can’t wait to read about it!
A new chunky knit in your shiny car will be perfect when you have the hood down 😉 Loving the new X-mas Pj’s and the lush new sofa too!

Something had to give and it has been blogging. Still, I hope to catch up soon. Lapland was simply amazing and I’m so glad we did it this year. New technology means you would be warm enough in the buff with the hood down in the middle of Winter. Not that I plan on proving that, lol! Nothing really beats velvet for cosiness in he sofa department, does it?

Times pressed, Blogging can always be dropped for the sake of family enjoyment, for sure!! Though do look forward to hearing how much the boys enjoyed Lapland 😉 Sounds like your new car has heated everythings LOL 😉 We too have just invested in a second cosy comfy fabric sofa to replace a cold leather one ~ seems like the days of cold leather sofas might be coming to an end lol 😉

I don’t do minimalist either – I do ‘cosy’. Although, in my next life, I might try the minimalist style – a bit Scandinavian – but I’d have to have no animals to make it work and I suppose that’s never going to happen.

I like the idea of minimalism until I imagine the reality! I like cosy rather than stark and you never see hens sat by the fire next to dogs on Grand Designs anyway, do you? So no good for us:)

Ooh that cranberry sofa is beautiful! And who does minimalism anyway – not us! Thanks again for organising the Stitching Santa. Now my parcel has been sent and I have also received one I can relax and wait for the blog posts to come in!

What a wonderful (if exhausting!) week. My Stitching Santa parcels were posted last Thursday so I hope they have arrived safely. Both of mine are here now. I can’t wait for Christmas to be able to open them now!
