Thank you, I love getting the details just right but tried extra hard as I didn’t want to give him anything to pick holes in:)

The shorts are just amazing – your finishing is immaculate! I’m sure they will stand up to what sounds like some pretty rough handling by Mr H-L!!

Thanks, but why is it men are so hard on their clothes, or is it just my family? The flat felled seams looks nice but they’re just as much for strength – I don’t want to be repairing ripped seams any time soon:)

Just checked out the site – these shorts really do look fabulous. We’re getting to that time of year when I think I may make my husband something to wear (and then I can sew stuff for me for the next 11 months ๐) and I was thinking shorts. I’m not sure he can pull off bright red like your husband can though!

The trouble is that mens’ clothes are usually, well, boring. Making your own gives them chance to stand out from the crowd a bit – if they’re brave enough!!

Mr. H-L looks so contemplative whilst wearing his fabulous new red shorts ~ I reckon, he’s bowled over by what a great seamstress you are!!! ๐ The shores in Spain will be enlightened! I really think a second brilliant pair could be in order for the future in reverse fabric option mode, if he can pull of such bright red shorts ~ he’ll have no probs with caravans lol!!

He really wants a shirt in the camper van fabric, so you might see that at some point! Both are quite tame compared to some of the things I’ve had the misfortune to witness in the past…….

Heading over there now for a look! He does look super duper chuffed with them! Not sure my hubby would wear anything so bright, his legs are so white he doesn’t like any attention drawn to them, especially next to my brown ones! ๐

He’s ear-marked them for playing golf in Spain as they’re quite smart as shorts go (shorts are allowed on men in Spain). He’s so hairy that you can’t tell if he’s got a tan or not:)

They didn’t get around to playing in the end, so he wore them when we went to Desert Springs. For a meal, not golf:)

Lovely make & great colour, Sheila – congratulations! Hint for the next pair if there’s wear at the bottom of the pockets: add a rivet. Jeans over here sometimes put ’em there, and on either side of back pockets, too. ๐

Rivets – such a great idea which I will definitely use if he shows signs of wearing them out too quickly, thanks Del:)

Thanks Robin, he looks great in them and is pretty pleased with them, I think, although men aren’t good at saying so. You’re getting on well with your sewing machine then? Send me some pictures of what you make please, I’d love to see them:)
